Prosser hospital buys new ambulance

PROSSER - A new, advanced life support ambulance has been added to Prosser Memorial Hospital's fleet.

The new unit replaces an older ambulance that had serviced the Grandview area for the past three years. Hospital officials say the new ambulance will allow EMS staff to provide care to patients in a more comfortable environment.

"The new unit has a lot more space in the patient care area, which will allow us to work more efficiently with patients," said Mike Schreiner, EMS manager.

"The ambulance, costing around $135,000 for the unit and equipment, demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent health care services to our local community," Schreiner added.

Hospital officials in Prosser said their EMS staff will continue to provide 911 emergency coverage for Prosser and Grandview and the surrounding areas of Mabton, Patterson, Bickleton and Whitstran, as well as along the I-82 corridor.
