Bid opening date extended for portion of jail work

YAKIMA - Tuesday morning, Yakima County commissioners approved a request from the Yakima County Department of Corrections Jail Transition Team that will extend the bid opening date on a portion of the construction of the Yakima Valley Justice Center project.

The bid opening date for bid package two on phase one, stage one of the jail project was extended to Wednesday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the Yakima County Courthouse.

Bid package two includes some site work, as well as some work to the building's interior. The building in question is the Pierce County jail facility that was purchased by Yakima County. The site work includes work on curbs, gutters and sidewalks, while the interior work includes some structural construction, including stud walls, ceilings and floors.
