JANICE LUELLA ZIMBELMAN

Janice Luella (Jahn) Zimbelman, 62, of Bremerton died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004.

She was born May 14, 1942 in Kingsley, Iowa. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1960.

She is survived by her parents, Carl and Luella Jahn of Inchilium; two sons, Donald and Dewayne McDermott, both of Kent; two daughters, Jennifer Tom of Kingston, and Janice Leanne Johnston of Pueblo, Colo.; one brother, Carl J. Jahn of Sunnyside; three sisters, Janet Schreiber of Milton, Betty Conant of Auburn, and Bonnie Mares of Sunnyside; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son; and a brother.

Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, Bremerton, was in charge of arrangements.

MANUELA G. SALINAS

Manuela G. Salinas, 82, of Sunnyside passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Yakima Regional Hospital.

She was born Sept. 1, 1922 in Allende, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Maximilliano Guzman and Angelita Marroquin. Manuela received her education in Mexico. In 1938 she married Catarino Castillo in Mexico, where they made their home until moving to Edinburg, Texas in 1946 and later to Sunnyside in 1965. In 1973 she married Glafiro Salinas in Sunnyside. Her husband died in 1998 and she continued to make her home in Sunnyside until the time of her death.

Manuela enjoyed gardening, planting and tending to her flowers. She loved family gatherings and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

Manuela was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by her seven sons, Rafael Castillo (Delia) of Prosser, Jesus Castillo (Martha) of Grandview, Joe Castillo (Mati) of Indio, Calif., Max Castillo (Janine) of Sunnyside, Catarino Castillo (Martha) of Sunnyside,

Aurelio Castillo (Mary) of Silverton, Ore., and Robert Castillo (Katrina) of Salem, Ore.; five daughters, Delia Gonzalez (Gabriel) of Prosser, Lupe Rodriquez (Ray) of Richland, Rebecca Castillo (Frank) of Prosser, Janie Segovia (Richard) of Grandview, and Mary Gonzalez (Panfilo) of Sunnyside; and three step-daughters, Oralia Ibarra (Roberto), Maggie Solis (Gilberto), and Romana Arriaga (Jesse); 48 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 15 stepgrandchildren and 28 stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Manuel; numerous brothers and sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
