Elderly man robberty victim in Sunnyside

A 91-year-old Granger man was the victim of a robbery Sunday afternoon.

The man reportedly gave a ride to a 20-year-old woman from Granger to Valley View Market at the corner of Lincoln Avenue, which is located at the intersection of First Street in Sunnyside. When they arrived at the market, the woman exited the vehicle, but not before taking the man's wallet from the bib pocket of his pants. She removed the cash from the wallet and threw it back into the vehicle, according to Sunnyside Police Department Capt. Phil Schenck.

A nearby witness to the robbery saw the woman matching the description of the robber go to the back of the market and get into another vehicle. She was arrested at the scene.

She is being charged with second degree robbery.

No one was injured in the robbery.
