Four people were arrested by Sunnyside police after they allegedly tried shoplifting from a local business located on Lincoln Avenue.
According to Sunnyside Police Capt. Phil Schenck, two Sunnyside girls, ages 13 and 14, were arrested and charged with third degree theft. The girls were caught by store security just before 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Monday a 19-year-old Mattawa man and a 15-year-old Sunnyside teen were picked up for attempting to shoplift a $21 motorized toy car, said Schenck.
"They appear to be unrelated thefts," he added.
The Mattawa man was arrested and is in custody. The Sunnyside teen was released to an adult.
