YAKIMA - Bob Hall of Sunnyside was one of three golfers who shot the low amateur round at the final event of the season sponsored by the Central Washington chapter of the PGA.
Playing at Apple Tree Golf Course this past Monday, Hall carded a one-under 71 to share top honors with co-amateurs Del Herring of Leavenworth Golf Course and Dan Whitaker of Ellensburg Golf Course.
Hall also helped propel his home course team from Sunnyside's Black Rock Creek Golf Course to a third place finish in Monday's PGA pro-am team division of play. The Sunnyside squad of Hall, Goins, Spanjer, Ferguson and local PGA club pro Jeff Bender shot an aggregate 196, just two strokes behind the winning team from Canyon Lakes Golf Course.
The final event of the 2004 Central Washington PGA pro-am series, the Page & Tuttle Fall Fling, was actually a two-day affair held Oct. 4-5. The first day of competition was staged at Apple Tree, with second day action occurring at Moses Pointe Golf Course in Moses Lake. Sunnyside High School graduate Jeff Widdows, now working as a club pro at Apple Tree Golf Course, let his squad to a first place finish in the team standings on Tuesday.
