Story times begin at Sunnyside public library

Each Tuesday through Oct. 12 is set aside as fall story time at the Sunnyside Public Library, 621 Grant Ave.

Stories, games, songs and crafts will be part of the weekly program, which begin at 10 a.m., according to Marcelina Ortega, the library's resident storyteller.

"Children of all ages and their parents are invited to visit the library for story time," Ortega said.

Nouvella Club style show date set

Nouvella Club will host its annual fall style show Thursday, Sept. 16, at Snipes Mountain Brewery and Restaurant in Sunnyside at noon.

The style show, which also serves as a club membership drive, will feature fashions by Priscilla's Chic Boutique of Yakima. The style show, while offering local women a glimpse of fall colors and styles, marks the group's first official meeting of the new club year.

Those wishing to learn more about the federated women's club may RSVP by Friday, Sept. 10, by calling Ramona Meeks at 837-5598.

The cost to attend is $10 and includes lunch.

Judicial candidates to address local Republicans

Three candidates for Yakima County Superior Court bench will be the featured speakers at the Friday, Sept. 10, meeting of the Sunnyside Republican Club.

The public is invited to the 7 a.m. no-host breakfast to hear from candidates Christ Tait, Blaine Gibson and Scott Bruns, all of Yakima.
