YAKIMA - The Mabton Lady Vikings weren't able to put anything together Tuesday night, losing to LaSalle High School.
The Mabton team lost to LaSalle in three games by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-18.
"We just did not play our game," said Mabton Coach Olivia Mendoza. "We could not get anything going."
Mendoza said her team was unable to get its offense together Tuesday night, adding that the team was also having trouble receiving serves from LaSalle.
"They really just beat us with their serves," Mendoza said.
She added that Mabton also had a lot of errors during the match, and was having trouble passing.
Throughout the match, Mendoza said junior Myra Diaz helped keep up the tempo for the Lady Vikings.
"Overall she played good offense and good defense," Mendoza said of Diaz. "She just kept it together through the entire night."
Despite having lost to LaSalle, Mabton didn't roll over. Instead, the local team managed to keep up with the Lady Lightning, keeping the score close throughout the night.
Helping the Lady Vikings stay close to LaSalle were senior Jessica Prieto with 5 kills and 3 aces, junior Alida Mendoza with 2 kills and 2 aces, and senior Rosa Reyna with 3 kills.
The Mabton team (4-2) will take to the court again Thursday night, facing off against Bickleton.
