BICKLETON - Villains, orphans and hapless heroines will invade Bickleton Saturday, April 2, when the Bickleton Community Players present The Villain Wore a Dirty Shirt in a single 7 p.m. performance.
The play, featuring Greg Wilson as the nefarious Phineas Flatworm, will be held at the Bickleton Grange as a benefit for the Cleveland Park Carousel Carriage Restoration project.
Cost to see the two-act play is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children, ages 3-12. Children under age 3 will be admitted free.
The old-fashioned melodrama is directed by Jan Brown and features Sunnyside banker Barbara Davis as the twins Olivia and Olympia Klenz. Kristi Roberts will be featured as Lola-Lola and Lenora McBride will play Phineas Flatworm's mother, Mrs. Mugwump. Also featured in the play is Rick Palmer as Coyote the Prospector and Joanne Copenhaver as Ida the Laundress. June Lathrop will play Mayor Haggle and Neal Brown will portray Sheriff Jack Benimble. Sweet Sally of the Soapsuds will be played by Billie Brown and Jeanna Jensen will play a waif from the "Phineas Flatworm Asylum For Deserving Waifs and Stray Animals."
Prior to the play, the Bickleton High School junior class will served a spaghetti dinner in the Bickleton Presbyterian Church basement from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
