Granger chamber sponsors spring fling golf tourney

GRANGER - Do you like golf? Do you like spring? Well, if you like these two things then the Granger Chamber of Commerce has something right up your alley.

The Granger chamber will be holding its spring fling festival golf fund-raising tournament Saturday, April 16, at the Cherry Hill Golf Course in Granger.

The first golfers will hit the tees at 8 a.m.

The format for the event is an 18-hole, four-person scramble. Participants do not need to be part of a four-person group, as any single players will be partnered with other golfers.

The entry fee for the tournament is $40 per person with lunch and other prizes included.

Another unique contest that will be at the event is the putt for cash contest. Participants will have a chance to win $2,500 for draining a 40-foot putt. The first ball for the putting for cash event is included with the entry fee into the tournament. Golfers can purchase additional attempts for $5 per ball or three balls for $10. Golfers do not have to be entered in the spring fling tournament to compete in the putt for cash event.

The batting cages and driving range at Cherry Hill Golf Course will be open for use the day of the tournament.

For more information or to register for the tournament, call Cherry Hill Golf Course at 854-1800 or club pro Randy DuFord at 840-0511.
