Tary Lee Vertz, 62, of West Richland died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at his home.

He was born in Grandview, the son of Lura Ethel Dosser and Marvin George Vertz. He lived in the Tri-Cities for the last 38 years. He was a Ben-Franklin Transit driver.

At his request there will be no funeral services. Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of arrangements.


Leo Fischer, 79, of Redmond died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue.

Mr. Fischer was born Nov. 14, 1925 in Trail City, S.D. to Joe and Eva Fischer.

Mr. Fischer was a self-employed general contractor. He married Viola Fitterer on June 13, 1951 in Yakima.

In addition to his wife, Viola, survivors include his sons, Patrick Fischer and Paul Fischer, both of Redmond; daughters, Leanne Fischer of Olympia, Karen Clark of Redmond and Janet Fischer of Oak Creek, Colo.; brothers, John Fischer, Frank Fischer, Adam Fischer, Al Fischer and Mike Fischer; two sisters, Carolyn Johnson and husband, George, of Sunnyside and Barbara Irwin; and five grandchildren.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eva Fischer; four brothers, Joe, Andrew, Anton and Casper; and one sister, Christine.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Parish in Redmond. Burial was at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue. Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145
