Sunnyside police investigate business break-in

Employees arriving to work at Jireh Boutique, 638 E. Decatur Ave. in Sunnyside, last Thursday morning found the front door of the business forced open.

Police reported that the door jam was split, showing obvious signs of forced entry.

Inside the clothing and accessory boutique, items were thrown on the floor and damaged. Numerous items, including clothing, perfume and Mary Kay products, were stolen.

The cash register was also broken into.

Police also responded to a report of a counterfeit $5 bill at Bank of the West last Thursday. The money was deposited into one of the bank's business accounts.

Last Friday, a maroon Chevrolet Corsica was reported stolen from a home in the 70 block of East Parkland Drive. Police are investigating the theft.

Police are also investigating a theft of a lawnmower from the 4000 block of Outlook Road.
