Police make arrest in Grandview shooting

GRANDVIEW - Grandview police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a shooting that took place this past Sunday outside of El Pueblito in the 300 block of West Second Street.

According to the Grandview Police Department, a little after midnight on April 17, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the West Second Street business. When officers arrived they found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his arm. Officers were also directed to the shooting suspect, who was leaving the scene in his vehicle.

Grandview police stopped the vehicle and the male suspect was taken into custody without incident. According to the Grandview Police Department, no firearm has been recovered in connection with the shooting.

According to the Grandview Police Department, no motive has been established for the shooting. Witnesses told police there may have been an argument between the victim and the suspect moments prior to the shooting, which took place in the parking lot of El Pueblito.

The 29-year-old suspect, Josue Ligarde-Sebastian, was transported to the Yakima County Jail, where Grandview police are requesting he be charged with first degree assault.
