Grandview kindergarten registration

set for May 10-12

GRANDVIEW - Kindergarten registration for the 2005-06 school year in Grandview will take place May 10-12, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. at McClure, Harriet Thompson and Smith elementary schools.

Kindergarteners entering school must have a minimum of four DTP and three Polio vaccinations. The last dose of DTP and Polio must have been received after the child's fourth birthday, regardless of the number of doses over the minimum. Kindergarteners also must have received two measles, mumps and rubella vaccinations after their first birthday, as well as completed their Hepatitis B series of three shots.

Children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2005 must be five years of age by Aug. 31, 2005. When registering their child for kindergarten, parents are asked to bring their child's birth certificate and completed immunization records with them. Parents may also be asked to provide proof of home address.

Students currently enrolled in pre-school will automatically be enrolled in kindergarten and do not need to be registered again.

Sunnyside accepting kindergarten

sign-ups May 2-6

The Sunnyside School District will conduct kindergarten registration sessions May 2-6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the district office (1110 S. Sixth St.).

The sign-up session is for all youngsters who will be in kindergarten classes in the fall of 2005.

Parents with a child who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31, 2005 should take their child's birth certificate, immunization records and proof of address to the district office next week.

District officials said state law requires that a child meet immunization requirements before being allowed to attend classes. The minimum immunization requirements for kindergarten students include four doses of DTP, three doses of Polio, two doses of measles, one dose of mumps, one dose of Rubella and three doses of Hepatitis B.

Parents who have questions about kindergarten registration are asked to contact enrollment specialist Aleyda Medrano at 836-6515.
