WHITE SWAN - The Bickleton High School track team fared well at the White Swan four-school meet held Tuesday afternoon.
"It was hot out there on the cinder track," said Bickleton Coach Darrell Lang.
"But we were able to improve our personal times and distances," he said.
Junior Corryn Raschko improved her distance in the long jump to 12-10, which was good for second place honors. She also took fourth place in the triple jump with a distance of 24-4, which was a personal best for the Bickleton athlete.
Freshman Eric Hess proved that his big sister Annie Hess isn't the only one in the family who can throw the shotput. The younger Hess threw the ball 35-8, which was good for a second place finish at the White Swan meet. He also claimed fourth place honors in the discus, throwing it a distance of 97-1.
The Bickleton boys 4x400-meter relay squad, which includes Tyler Jensen, Cody Loomis, Alex Whitmore and C.J. Berk, placed fourth with a time of 4:45. The Pirates 4x100-meter relay team placed sixth with a time of 59 seconds. On the 4x100 team are Bryan Whitmore, Alex Whitmore, Berk and Ryan Bravo.
Loomis, competing in his first long jump event, claimed third place honors with a distance of 16-4. He also took fifth in the high jump with a height of 5-2.
Jensen was fifth in the long jump with a distance of 15-8.
The Bickleton team will be traveling to Mabton Thursday for an invitational.
