WILLIAM CHARLES WAMBAUGH

William “Bill” Charles Wambaugh, 65, of Sunnyside died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Grandview Health Care.

He was born July 9, 1939 in San Luis Obispo, Calif. to William Charles and Lucille Beatrice (Branin) Wambaugh. He received his education in San Luis Obispo. He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 26, 1962 to November 1964. In 1992, he came to the Yakima Valley, where he drove truck for Pete Sartin, later working for Emerald Ranch, before retiring a couple of years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Lorna Wambaugh of Sunnyside; three step-children; nine step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Wambaugh of California; and two sisters, Mae Morton of Washington and Lillian of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Mr. Wambaugh’s request there will be no formal funeral services. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARTHA L. WETHERELL

Martha L. Wetherell, 85, a long-time Mabton resident died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Grandview Health Care.

She was born June 22, 1919 in Withrow, the daughter of Martha Imch and Sam Supplee. She received her education in Richland. She later met and married Francis Wetherell in Richland, where they farmed until moving to Mabton in 1942. They continued farming in Mabton until they retired. Her husband died in 1996 and Martha continued to make her home in Mabton until the time of her death.

Martha is survived by three sons, Daryl Wetherell and wife, Marcy, of Sunnyside, Bob Wetherell and wife, Darla, of Yakima and Curtis Wetherell and wife, Paula, of Prosser; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Supplee of Kennewick; and one sister, Bea Radar of Tillamook, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; a son, Dallas Wetherell; four brothers; and one sister.

Private family inurnment will be held at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
