Police arrest two on drug charges

Sunnyside police, with the aid of Yakima County Sheriff's deputies and LEAD Task Force detectives arrested a 33-year-old Sunnyside man and a 23-year-old Outlook man last Saturday night on charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Arrested was William L. Bruhn of Sunnyside on charges of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug dwelling. Also arrested was Richard L. Bermudez of Outlook on charges of possession of metamphetamine with intent to deliver.

The officers executed a search warrant at 97 E. Maple Way at 11 p.m. Saturday, where they discovered a large amount of methamphetamine and materials related to drug distribution, according to Sunnyside Police Sgt. Kent Coffman.

He said the officers also discovered stolen property at the location, that is believed to be related to several burglaries in Benton County.

The suspects were booked into the Sunnyside jail and will be transferred to Yakima County Jail.
