Grandview man arrested on child molestation charges

GRANDVIEW - A Grandview man is behind bars facing 11 counts, ranging from first degree rape of a child to child molestation, following a report made by two mothers.

Grandview Police Detective Mark Ware said two mothers walked into the police department early last week to report their children had told them that someone had molested them. Ware said it is believed there were four victims, ranging in age from 6 to 12.

Ware said police took two of the victims to Yakima, where they were interviewed. As a result of the interviews, the 22-year-old Grandview man was arrested.

According to Grandview police, in one case, the man is being charged with the first degree rape of a child and three counts of first degree child molestation. In the second case, he is being charged with four counts of rape of a child and three counts of child molestation. The suspect has not been arraigned, though.

Ware said Grandview police are continuing to investigate the case.
