S’side firemen appreciate support

The administration and staff of the Sunnyside Fire Department would like to send a heartfelt thank-you to the citizens and businesses of the Sunnyside community for their deeply appreciated support of our staff and the firefighting staff of the other communities that helped suppress the (TV Towne) fire on Thursday, Aug. 4.

Your moral support and donations of food and drink were greatly appreciated.

Steakhouse serves quality meals

My husband and I finally ate at the Double D Steakhouse on the corner of 16th and Yakima Valley Highway in Sunnyside. I had the barbecue beef ribs served with corn on the cob and baked potato. My husband had the fish and chips.

The ribs were the most tender beef ribs I've ever eaten. The corn was sweet and tender crisp, and the potato was not too huge and was served with a side of butter and sour cream. The lemonade was a 20-oz. bottle of "Calypso" and was delicious. I took the rest of it home. My husband enjoyed the fish, chips and 7-Up.

I know we will be going back soon to try the other steaks, entrees and salads. This is one restaurant I hope will be around for a long, long time.
