Burglary suspect nabbed

An alert Washout Road resident's fast thinking and daring action led to the quick arrest of one Sunnyside man, who with an accomplice was reportedly seen leaving the victims' residence yesterday morning (Sunday).

The unidentified resident, whose home had earlier been burglarized, reportedly gave chase to the two men, alerting law enforcement to the situation. Officers from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office and Sunnyside Police Department quickly were in place to intercept the alleged thieves, said Sunnyside Police Chief Ed Radder.

One of the suspects led the officers to a residence in the 1700 block of Sheller Road, where in addition to the stolen items in his vehicle, items taken in a recent rash of Yakima County burglaries were also recovered, said Radder.

Arrested is Andrew Reihs, who is now being held on burglary charges at the Sunnyside Law and Justice Center jail. The second suspect in the incident has not yet been located.

Recovered were tools, a motorcycle, two chainsaws, a weed trimmer and roto tiller.
