Granger to host alumni hoop games

GRANGER - Calling all former Granger basketball players, your skills and time are needed on Friday, Dec. 23.

Granger Middle School will host three alumni games that evening, pitting former Spartan greats against one another.

The first of the alumni contests, called the "Young Bucks" game, will feature Granger High grads from the years 1995 to 2005. The 6 p.m. men's game will match up players who graduated in odd years against those who graduated in even years.

The "Middle Aged" alumni game, set to begin at 7:15 p.m., is for players who graduated from 1985 to 1994.

The "Old Geezers" alumni game is geared to showcase the talents of all Granger hoop players who graduated in 1984 and before. That contest is slated to begin at 8:30 p.m.

Those former Granger High boys basketball players who want to compete are asked to reserve a spot on one of the alumni teams by contacting Roy Cardenas (830-7223), Craig Carpenter (391-0786) or Andy Affholter (949-8334).

Alumni players who graduated in an odd year are asked to wear a white t-shirt to the game, those who graduated in an even year are asked to wear a red top.

Admission to the alumni contests, to be held at Granger Middle School, is set at $3 for adults and $2 for students.
