DAVID ROLAND HOLDEN
David Roland Holden, 98, of Prosser passed away Sunday,
Dec. 4, 2005, at Sun Terrace Retirement Center in Prosser.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1907 in Grace, Idaho to David
Thomas and Lena Valeria (Joseph) Holden. He moved from Hanford to a small farm
southeast of Sunnyside in 1943. He resided in Sunnyside until he moved to Sun
Terrace Retirement Center in 2001.
He is survived by his children, Larenna Gallagher of Moxee,
Esther Miles (JayVale), of Sunnyside, Jerrine Fitzgerald (Russell), of
Vancouver, Josephine Yetter (Larry), of Prosser, Gwenn Goodsell (Wayne), of
Auburn, Delmar Holden (Deloris), of Yakima, and Glenn Holden of Seattle; 26
grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Tremelling of
Layton, Utah and Iona Miller of Post Falls, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucy
Almira Holden; three brothers; and three sisters.
Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005,
from 5 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, and Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005,
from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
Sunnyside. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at 11 a.m. at
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with burial to follow at Lower
Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of
Narciso Juarez, 83, of Mabton passed away Sunday, Dec. 4,
2005, at Sunnyside Community Hospital.
He was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Mexico to Celso Epifanio and
Petra (Hernandez) Juarez. On May 17, 1941 he married Juana Arellano in Mexico,
where they together made their home for eight years. In 1949, the Jaurez family
moved to Mercedes, Texas until March of 1955, when they moved to Mabton.
Narciso was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Mabton.
He is survived by one son, Jose Miguel Juarez of Mabton;
six daughters, Maria Teresa Mendoza, Maria Guadalupe DeLeon, Maria Rosario
Juarez, and Hermelinda Juarez, all of Mabton, Maria Luisa Rodriguez of
Grandview and Graciela Guichard of Lynwood; one son-in-law, Heriberto Mendoza;
and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juana
Arellano Juarez in 1991; a daughter, Petra Mendoza; and a grandson, Dario
Viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7,
2005, at 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be held at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral
Home, Sunnyside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Dec. 8,
2005, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Mabton, with burial
to follow at Mabton Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
