PROSSER - A lack of presence inside and too many second chance points doomed the Lady Greyhounds as they lost 66-48 to Prosser.
"We got outscored by 20 points in the paint," Grandview Coach Adolofo Hinojosa said. "We didn't block out very well and we gave up too many second chance points."
The Mustangs out rebounded the Greyhounds 35-29 but got twice as many offensive rebounds as the Greyhounds by a 16-8 margin.
Other than that there wasn't much difference in the game. Both teams shot in the 30 percent range, Prosser with 39 percent and Grandview with 33. Grandview did turn the ball over more.
"We're playing one good quarter and not four," Hinojosa said. "We're working on that. Our focus right now is to get some confidence and it's going pretty good."
Danica Rodriguez had an off night, scoring 8 points for the Greyhounds. "She got banged up a bit," Hinojosa explained.
Cristina Meza put in 19 points and Kinzi Poteet just missed a double-double with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Jordan Brown led the Mustangs with 21 points and 5 rebounds.
"We're a very young team," Hinojosa said. "We're going to get much better as the season goes on."
