Zaida Snow Tarpenning, 73, of Grandview went to be in the arms of her heavenly Father Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at her home.

She was born to Reverend and Mrs. M.E. Foredyce on April 8, 1932, in Clarkston. Zaida spent most of her school years in Prosser. She later worked as a nurse for both Prosser Hospital and Sunnyside General Hospital. Zaida moved to Seattle, where she worked in medical sales. She returned to the Yakima Valley and worked in real estate sales until retiring in 1997.

She is survived by the love of her life, her wonderful husband, Tarp Tarpening, whom she met and married in 1998. She is survived by five children, Kathy Menshew (Roger), Chuck Sartain, Vernon Sartain (Sue), Rick Sartain (Kathy) and Kimberely Fuller (Kal); 15 grandchilden; 19 great-grandchildren; father, Reverend M. Foredyce; and three sisters, Gloria Gault, Adine Knopp and Vannetta Jennings.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Foredyce; sister, Glenna Root and brother, Earl Foredyce.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, 241 3rd Ave., Granger. Private family burial was held at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
