Henry places first for SHS swimmers

MOSES LAKE - The Sunnyside High School boys swimming duo of Zile Wagner and Alex Henry recorded near personal best times at Moses Lake Thursday, but it wasn't enough against the larger Pullman team, which prevailed 145-15.

"They were both really close to their personal bests, which is impressive because we've been upping our workouts," noted Coach Carl Scott.

Wagner captured third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:25.45. He also brought home second in the 50 freestyle in 28.15.

Henry was fourth in the 50 freestyle in 29.03 and garnered the Grizzlies' top award of the day with a first-place time of 1:17.83 in the 100 breaststroke.

"They both did a really good job," Scott said. "We've been working on our strokes and trying to improve."

Sunnyside swimmers next hit the pool this Saturday for a non-scoring meet in Wenatchee.
