Area students made the grade at YVCC

Each quarter, Yakima Valley Community College recognizes outstanding academic achievement by placing students on the President or Dean's list. Each student who meets the criteria of the specific designations receives a letter and certificate acknowledging the award and a notation will be placed in the student's permanent transcript.

To receive the President's list designation, the student must earn both a quarterly grade point average of at least 3.85 and complete a minimum of at least 12 graded credits.

A 3.4 to 3.84 quarterly grade point average is required to be placed on the Dean's list and the student also must complete a minimum of 12 graded credits per quarter.

Students from Grandview who made the Dean's list for the 2005 fall quarter were Maricela Barajas, Rosalinda A. Benitez, Quentin G. Christensen, Shannon K. Freisinger, Josefina L. Gomez, Leslie L. Jones, Megan A. Maas, Kari D. Miller, Petra M. Morales, Erika Pacheco, Halley C. Rodriguez, Gloria Ruiz, Vicente Ruiz, Crystal A. Saucedo and Carly M. Womach.

Dean's list students from Granger were Isaias Cervantes, Esther Chavez, Samuel R. Jochen, Amanda N. Marrs, Gaylord M. Perkins and Richard A. Pewtress.

Mabton had two students make the Dean's list; Lisa I. Kitchen and Guy R. Roberts.

Outlook's Elma L. Campos, Rena L. Guy and Thomas M. Meadows made the Dean's list.

Prosser saw Michaela L. Andrews, Aida Asevedo, Whitney J. Bradshaw, Bruno Guerra, Jennifer D. Hare and Susana M. Macias make the Dean's list.

Students from Sunnyside who made the Dean's list were Alicia Alvarez, Jacob Barr, Cole V. Boboth, Antonio Cadengo, Sandra M. Cerda, Jessica A. Charvet, Andrew R. Fisher, Luis C. Martinez, Starr L. McDaniel, Silvia M. Mondragon, Patricia F. Navarro, Yuliya Petrova, Lindsey N. Phillips, Kasi M. Puente, Heather N. Robert, Mandy D. Rovert, Gary R. Street, Jilliann Stroh, Hilary Van de Graaf, Rebecca Van Dyken, Luan M. Watts and Samuel Wise.

Students from Grandview who made the 2005 fall quarter President's list are S. Joy Arroyo, Cristina L. Bobadilla, Elva Campuzano, Teagan L. Johnston, Jennifer S. Jones, Joana V. Lucatero, Emily Perry, Olebia V. Urbina-Lopez, Nicole Walder and Zoe S. Zhou.

Elyse M. Mengarelli, from Granger, made the President's list and so did Outlook's Diana C. Castillo.

Prosser's Patrick J. Albano, Karla M. Jaime, Pearl L. Sanchez and Pamela F. Talley all made the President's list, too.

Sunnyside students Sunny L. Barnes, Michelle L. Perry, Nicolete Plooster, Cristoti A. Redulla, Alex Rivera and Laken M. Top-Schultz also made the President's list.
