Christmas cheer

On behalf of all the Sunnyside staff of the Department of Children and Family Services, we would like to thank the following community businesses and people who sponsored foster children with Christmas presents this year: Strain and Barrom Insurance, Canam Steel, Kiwanis Club of Grandview, Les Schwab of Sunnyside, Jan Hinkle-Rodriguez and family, Tammy Leyendekker, Brin and Dan Austin, Greg Uberuaga, Yolanda Alvarez, Dolores Cantu, Lindy and Jerry Anderson, as well as Mel and Amy McGuire for bringing Santa Claus and yummy sugar cookies to decorate.

To Andrea Reyes, Grandview High School senior, we are so very grateful that you chose our agency and the clients we serve for your senior culminating project. The gifts you collected/purchased and the sponsorship of local businesses you sought for our agency helped to make this a memorable holiday season for children and families in our community. Your energy in organizing activities for the children to participate in and enthusiasm in volunteering your time to see the activities through at the party are truly appreciated.

To the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church and its congregation, a big thank you for allowing us to use your church gymnasium for the children's Christmas party. Your generosity and support to our agency is appreciated by all the staff and families we serve.

It has been rewarding to see the broad support our local community provided to bring a smile to children's faces who don't always have much to smile about. Again, thank you to everyone involved.

/s/ Megan McGuire, Social Worker, Sunnyside DCFS
