‘Beehive’ promises

to be feast for the eyes

YAKIMA - From the "Supremes" to "Aretha Franklin," the "Chiffons" to "Tina Turner," the Yakima Warehouse Theatre will be rocking and rolling when "Beehive" hits the stage.

"Beehive" is a musical celebration of 60s girl groups that will be presented Feb. 17 through March 12.

A dynamic musical revue, "Beehive" celebrates the sights, sounds and spirit of the 1960s through a decade of legendary women of rock 'n roll.

Local musicians—including Cathy Kloster, Julianne Goverville, Tobi Beehler, Anne Wimberly, Pamela DeCre, Julia Meyer, Vicky Isaak and Jessie Santos—will sing a string of smash hits by everyone from Dusty Springfield and Leslie Gore to Janis Joplin.

The musical extravaganza will be directed by Warehouse Theatre Company veteran JoRee Murphy. Promoters of "Beehive" say to count on the musical presentation to be Murphy's usual "tour de force."

Set designer Randy LaPierre and costume director Tony Thomas have also gone on record, guaranteeing that the show will be a visual feast for the eyes.

Tickets, priced at $15 for adults and $12 for children and senior citizens, go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Warehouse Theatre box office (5000 West Lincoln Ave.). Tickets can also be ordered by calling (509) 966-0951. Performances are scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 17-26 and March 3-12, at 8 p.m. each evening.
