Weekly line dance lessons available
Want to learn new dance steps? Line dance classes are now
being taught at the Sunnyside Eagles lodge each Wednesday night.
The classes start promptly at 5:15 p.m. and last until 6:45
The cost is $3 per lesson, according to instructor Sandi
Buchman. She said it is important for class participants to be on time for
class as new dances are taught at the beginning of each evening, followed by
Individuals interested in the classes may simply show up at
the Eagles Lodge on South Hill Road.
Pike Market BBQ contest planned
SEATTLE - The Pike Place Market's third annual chili and
barbecue competition will be held Sunday, Feb. 20, starting at 10 a.m. at the
public marketplace in Seattle.
The contest will include dozens of barbecue teams seeking
the right to claim theirs as the best barbecue or chili in the Northwest.
The contest begin at 10 a.m. and barbecue and chili samples
will go on sale at 11 a.m. The money raised from the sale of the samples will
benefit the Market Foundation.
The event is organized in partnership with the Western BBQ
Association and the Chili Appreciation Society International.

Bull-o-rama contest coming to Toppenish Eagles
Toppenish Eagles will host a bull-o-rama Saturday, Feb. 12, at the lodge, 515
S. Division Avenue in Toppenish.
Billed as a family event, cash prizes will be awarded in a
number of divisions, from children 12-17 and adults 20 and over. Proceeds from
the $10 rider entry fee will benefit the Eagles and senior citizen projects.
The bull-o-rama event is a part of a day-long open house
being held at the lodge. The public is invited to attend.
