Pearl Hughes Guild meeting

set for Friday

The Pearl Hughes Guild of the Children's Hospital and Medical Center of Seattle will meet this coming Friday, Feb. 18, at 11:30 a.m. at the Sunny Spot Restaurant in Sunnyside.

Joyce Carter will provide the gift for the February hostess gift project.

Knitting classes start in March

Knitting classes offered by the Sunnyside Parks and Recreation Department will start Tuesday, March 8, at Sunnyside's Episcopal Church.

Class fees are set at $10. Participants must provide their own knitting supplies, including yarn and needles.

Class dates are March 8, 15, 22 and 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. Participants will be taught basic knit, purl, cast on, cast off, and how to measure gauge and interpret reading instructions, while knitting a basic potholder or scarf.

Sign-up information for the classes is available at the local parks and rec office, located at the Sunnyside Community Center at South Hill Park.
