Dairy workshop set for Feb. 25

A one-day workshop on dairy anaerobic digestion will be held Friday, Feb. 25, in Sunnyside at the Snipes Mountain Brewery and Restaurant featuring three top experts in the field.

The workshop will be an opportunity for producers to learn more about the technical and economic performance of commercially available anaerobic digestion systems, financial assistance and regulatory concerns, as well as project development and management issues.

Phil Lusk of Resource Development Associates, Mark Moser of RCM Digesters and Steve Dvorak of GHD Inc., will be the presenters at the workshop.

The workshop is hosted by Washington State University's Center for Sustaining Agriculture and National Resources, in cooperation with the Yakima Valley Dairy Federation and the Washington State Dairy Federation. Other sponsors include the Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority, South Yakima Conservation District, Northwest Plastics, Inc., the Institute for Washington's Future and the Washington Department of Ecology.

The fee for the day-long workshop is $15, which includes lunch. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m.
