Bonnie Marie Findley, 66, of Grandview passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, from complications during surgical recovery.

Bonnie was born Oct. 14, 1938 in Lynch, Neb. to LeVain and Blanch McGill’s the youngest of five children. Bonnie’s family moved to Mabton, when she was five years old. She grew up there and attended Mabton High School. After high school she moved to Grandview, where she resided for the duration of her life. On June 20, 1975 Bonnie married Derril W. Findley in Reno, Nev. Together they built a wonderful, happy life with many friends and a close-knit family. She worked hard all of her life. Most of her work was in the health and dental fields. Her latest work was as a laboratory assistant for local dentist, Robert Larson.

Bonnie was known to everyone as a very nice person who always had a smile on her face and kind words of encouragement for anyone who needed it.

She loved taking care of her flower gardens, loved animals, especially dogs and enjoyed spending time with her life-long best friend, Mardell Little of Toppenish.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Derril Findley of Grandview; two daughters, Connie Green of Troutdale, Ore. and Kelly Elliott of Sunnyside; one son, Anthony Hornbeck of Puyallup; one grandson, Bryan Hornbeck of Puyallup; one granddaughter, Kila Hornbeck of Puyallup. Survivors also include two stepsons, Michael Findley and Robert Findley, both of Sultan; two stepgrandchildren, Breanna and Mitchel Findley, both of Sultan; two sisters, Audrey Williams of Bickleton and Elaine Boday of Richland; two brothers, Marvin McGill of Yakima and Melvin McGill of Goldendale; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Cremation will follow with no further formal services. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
