PASCO - The Sunnyside High School girls bowling team won both Baker games yesterday to pull out a 2-2 tie against the Pasco Bulldogs.
Tuesday's match at Pasco's Go Bowl Lanes was the season finale for the Lady Grizzlies. Sunnyside concluded 2004-05 play with a win-loss record of 1-10-2.
The Lady Grizzlies earned the tie against Pasco by winning the two Baker games, 135-116 and 121-117. The Baker game format calls for each member of the five-girl squad to alternate taking shots throughout the 10 frames.
In the two opening contests, Pasco prevailed 845-636 and 626-558. The Bulldogs were led by Raechell Wright (212-104) and Amy Bamford (162-143) with two-game series of 316 and 305, respectively.
The top two-game series turned in by Sunnyside yesterday was a 260, rolled by senior Desiree Pritchett on efforts of 126-134. Also competing for the Lady Grizzly varsity were senior Cora Rodriguez (119-123), sophomore Kayla Coder (152-89), junior Megan Saunders (118-121) and junior Katie Weets (121-91).
In JV action Tuesday, Pasco claimed a 3-1 victory. The lone point picked up by Sunnyside's junior varsity came in the second contest, a 593-563 win. The JV Lady Grizzlies' top two bowlers were Alma Romero (100-136) and Maribel Rodriguez (139-92).
