Death Notice



Clara Marie Linder, 96, long-time Grandview resident died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Prosser Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 8, 1908 in Kansas to Daniel and Gertrude (Zentz) Kiser. On Feb. 22, 1926 she married Perry C. Linder in Pratt, Kan. Together they lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. The family moved to the Yakima Valley in 1940. In 1944, they moved to a farm near Sunnyside and later settled on a farm near Prosser. She continued to make Prosser and Grandview her home until the time of her death. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Prosser Memorial Nursing Home until she retired in 1985.

She is survived by one daughter, Margie Linder of Tacoma; four sons, Junior Linder and wife, Jean, of Yakima, Ken Linder and wife, Diane, of Oakhurst, Calif., Del Linder and wife, Dorene, of Tacoma and Wayne Linder of Sunnyside; 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry, in 1961; one daughter, Corine Clough; one son, Elden Linder; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of arrangements.
