BICKLETON - Annie Hess's game high 22 points were not enough to get the job done against the LaSalle High School girls basketball team last Friday night.
That's because Hess was the only Lady Pirate to score.
The Lady Pirates (2-4, 5-6) lost the league game 56-22 to LaSalle.
Despite playing what Bickleton Coach Tom Whitmore termed a good game, the LaSalle Lightning was just too fast for his girls.
"They shot well against us. Although Annie (Hess) was the only player that scored for us, I felt we played a tight defense and moved the ball better on offense," Whitmore said.
Hess also grabbed 16 rebounds, while teammate Molly Pearson grabbed six.
Whitmore also credited Pearson and Stephanie Tucker with some fine defensive play.
The Lady Pirates will be back in action tonight (Tuesday) facing Yakima Tribal at Bickleton.
