YAKIMA - Sunnyside Christian High School swimmers Patrick and Joey Elerding competed against Eisenhower Tuesday and took first in all four events they swam.
Patrick Elerding, a senior at Sunnyside Christian High School, not only took first place honors in both of the swimming events he competed in, but also clocked State qualifying times, according to his coach and father, Steve Elerding.
"Patrick won the 50 free in a time of 22.62 and the 100 back in a time of 54.64," said Elerding. "Patrick now has State (qualifying) times in all eight individual events."
In the 200 individual medley, the younger Elerding took first place honors with a clocking of 2:05.35. A personal best for the Sunnyside Christian freshman, he missed the State qualifying cut by 35 one-hundredth's of a second, said his father.
The younger Elerding also placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a clocking of 57.81.
The Elerding boys will be competing against West Valley in Yakima this Saturday, Jan. 29.
