GLENWOOD - The Bickleton High School Pirates couldn't catch a break in Thursday night's battle with the Glenwood Eagles. The Pirates struggled to keep up with the fast pace set by the Eagles, falling 62-34.
"We just couldn't block them," said Bickleton Coach Ben McBride.
"We fell behind 15-4 in the first quarter and it was downhill from there," McBride said.
"We can't seem to step up and slow the game down," he added.
Still, Bickleton's lone senior, Bryan Whitmore, was able to make 10 points for the Pirates. He was aided by freshmen Eric Hess, who claimed six rebounds, and Chris McBride, who added six points to the scoreboard.
"We have awfully young players who are still learning to play as a team. With a little more experience we should be able to boost our game. It's all about experience," McBride said.
Bickleton (0-9,0-14) will face Lyle tonight at Bickleton.
