Welch, Teeny featured draws at this year's sportsmen show

YAKIMA - Outdoor sportsmen had better mark Feb. 4-6 on their calendars. Those are the dates of this year's Central Washington Sportsmen Show, again to be staged in the Yakima SunDome.

This year's show will feature an outdoor cooking camp with author and TV personality C.W. Welch. Also, expert fly fisherman Jim Teeny will be in attendance to greet visitors to the annual show.

Some of the activities planned this year include a fly casting pool, informational booths set up by guides, lodges and resorts, and daily hunting and fishing seminars. There will also be indoor archery demonstrations, the 16th annual horn and antler competition and daily door prizes. Those who attend the show can also participate in a trout bobbing contest and visit a virtual reality shooting range.

For the younger folks, there will be a lunker lake fishing pond for the kids, a free air rifle range and a Bassmaster casting contest.

Admission prices for the three-day event are set at $6.50 for adults, and $3.50 for children and senior citizens. One admission ticket entitles the bearer to attend all three days of the show.

Show hours will be from 1 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 6.
