The 25th annual American Cancer Society benefit tennis tournament in Sunnyside will be held this coming weekend at the high school tennis courts.
The tournament will run July 8-10. Sunnyside High School tennis Coach Troy Whittle is the tournament director.
The tournament is open to juniors ages 10 through 18 in both doubles and singles play. There will also be tournament play for adult men and women in both doubles and singles. The tournament will also feature mixed doubles teams.
Entry forms for the tournament may be obtained at the Sunnyside Recreation Department at South Hill Park. Forms are also available at the Grandview Herald in Grandview and the Prosser Record-Bulletin.
Entry fees for the tournament are $8 for juniors in singles play and $15 for young doubles teams. The fee for adult singles is $12 and $20 per doubles team.
The tournament is being sponsored by the Sunnyside Tennis Club, Strain and Barrom Insurance, Dr. Randall Schuler, Sunnyside Community Hospital, Dr. Hugh Shiels and Stewart Farms.
All the money raised from the tournament will be given to the American Cancer Society for cancer research.
