Juan Gabriel “Gabe” Hernandez, 26, of Sunnyside passed away Saturday, July 2, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Gabe was born July 4, 1978 in Sunnyside, the son of Rosalio “Charlie” and Amelia (Romero) Hernandez. Gabe graduated with the Sunnyside High School class of 1997 and later attended North Shore Community College for two years. Gabe lived and worked in the Seattle area until moving to Sunnyside in March of 2005. He was currently employed in the family business, Charlie’s Tune Up in Sunnyside.

Gabe enjoyed reading the newspaper each morning, watching all sports, family barbeques and cherished time spent with his two nephews, DeVante and Ezekiel.

He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.

Gabe is survived by his parents, Charlie and Amelia Hernandez of Sunnyside; two sisters, Esmeralda Hernandez of Ellensburg and Ruby Rose Hernandez of Sunnyside; his grandparents, Nicolasa Moncivaiz of Mabton and Beatrice Yanez of Alamo, Texas; and two nephews, Devante Tomas Hernandez and Ezekiel Jose Chavez, both of Sunnyside.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside. Burial will be at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
