Grandview police investigate car thefts, burglaries

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview police have issued state-wide bulletins for information concerning the theft of two vehicles reported Monday.

The automobile thefts include a late model red Ford Ranger pick-up taken from the 100 block of West Second Street and a 2003 Ford Explorer taken from the Mid Valley Chrysler dealership on Stover Road.

The silver Explorer was reported missing to the police Monday afternoon, but according to the police log, had not been seen since Saturday.

The pick-up, owned by Stegeman Electric, was reportedly taken from behind the business, where it was parked with the keys left inside, according to a Grandview Police Department spokesman.

Police are also investigating a burglary in the 900 block of Zorado Road, in which a stereo was taken from a car parked in the homeowner's garage. Police are also trying to unravel a reported burglary in the 100 block of Broadview Avenue, in which residents came home to find their house has been ransacked.
