Businessman found dead in local motel

The body of a 33-year-old Sunnyside businessman was discovered early last Friday morning in a local motel, where Sunnyside police and firemen responded to a report of a room fire.

Upon their arrival at Country Inn and Suites, 408 Yakima Valley Highway, Christopher Leach's body was discovered in the bathroom, according to Sunnyside firemen.

Both the cause of fire and Leach's death are under investigation.

The fire resulted in nearly $10,0000 damage to the room, said Lloyd Hazzard of the Sunnyside Fire Department

The cause of Leach's death is under investigation. Police are waiting the result of the county coroner's report, said Sunnyside Police Detective Joe Guillen.

Leach, who owned the Centennial Tank Wash in the Sunnyside Port District, is survived by a wife and two children.
