Tuesday night shooting leaves one hospitalized

Sunnyside's sixth gunshot victim in three weeks is being treated this morning at Sunnyside Community Hospital following a late Tuesday night surgery for multiple gunshot injuries.

Although the hospital was unable to release any information regarding the victim's condition, according to the Sunnyside police log, the victim's name is Ruben Solis Jr., age unknown.

According to the police report, Solis was found with gunshot injuries outside an apartment building, located at 801 E. Harrison Ave., at about 8:16 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The police reportedly have a suspect in custody.

Tuesday night's shooting is the second shooting incident in Sunnyside since June 28, in which two men were killed and three others were injured in a shootout at Parkland Homes. As of today (Wednesday), no arrests have been made in the Parkland incident. Sunnyside police are reportedly still awaiting the results of a state crime lab investigation before making any arrests in the matter.
