Phyllis Lorraine Tuttle, 82, of Sunnyside passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2005, at Hillcrest Manor.

Phyllis was born Jan. 27, 1923 in Ekalaka, Mont. to Fredrick and Mabel (McCumber) Koehler. She graduated from St. Ignatious High School in Montana, later moving to Sunnyside in 1946 with her two daughters.

On March 2, 1951 Phyllis married Sid Tuttle. Together, they made their home in Sunnyside, where Phyllis worked in produce warehouses. She later worked as a janitor for Sunnyside Grace Brethren Church.

Phyllis and Sid enjoyed traveling throughout the states. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener, for a time growing a test garden of roses for Jackson and Perkins.

She was very active in her church and shared with others through hosting missionaries and assisting at Union Gospel Mission.

She is survived by her husband, Sid of Sunnyside; two daughters, Gloria Storaci of Sunnyside and Sharon Odell of Olympia; two brothers, Fred Koehler of Orlando, Fl. and John Koehler of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister, Glenda Cameron of Quincy; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Sunnyside Grace Brethen Church. Memorials are suggested in her name to Grace Brethren International Missions and may be left with funeral home staff at time of service. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside is entrusted with arrangements.
