Teen nabbed for vehicle prowl

A Sunnyside teen was arrested early this morning (Wednesday) as he was seen fleeing from the scene of a vehicle prowl.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody and is being charged with third degree theft, third degree possession of stolen property, making/having a burglary tool, second degree criminal trespassing and third degree malicious mischief.

According to Sunnyside Police Department Deputy Chief Phil Schenck, the teen attempted to break into a vehicle in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue. The suspect was reported seen fleeing the area and was placed under arrest.

Also reported was a theft from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of South 11th Street. The vehicle's window was broken out. The theft was reported Tuesday afternoon. Police have no suspects for the theft at this time.
