Sheller Road accident sends one to hospital

Failure to stop at a stop sign is credited as the reason for a two-car collision at the intersection of Sheller Road and SR-241 early Wednesday evening.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Roberta Hansen, 66, of Grandview was eastbound on Sheller Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the SR-241 intersection.

She was hit by a southbound car driven by Pedro Alvarado, 54, of Mabton.

Hansen was transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital by ambulance, where she was treated for abrasions
