Grandview makes way for development of 105 new homes

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview City Council has paved the way for 150 new homes to be constructed in the community.

Monday night, council members approved one preliminary subdivision, which will bring with it 45 new single-family homes, as well as two petitions for annexation and rezone, which will bring 105 new residential units into Grandview.

The preliminary subdivision and development contract approved by council is for a subdivision that will be located along Pleasant Avenue, near the intersection of Grandridge Road. The 45-lot subdivision, being developed by CEDA Construction, is titled Pleasant Ridge Homes. Developers hope to begin building on the nearly 10-acre plot later this spring.

Council members also approved two petitions for annexation and rezone, including one submitted by Harlan and Betty Hames and Warren Bogart. The more than 24-acre plot of land will be used to construct 63 single-family homes. The property is located on Wilson Highway.

The final petition for annexation approved by council is for nearly 11 acres owned by Marie Temple, Ginger Birk and Eva Murphy.

The West Fifth Street property will be used to develop 40 single family homes and two duplexes.
