Family seeks whereabouts of 14-year-old girl

Mariale Osorio...missing for more than a week now

It's been a full week now since Justina Solona of Sunnyside has seen her 14-year-old daughter, Mariale Osorio.

Solona assumes her daughter, a Sunnyside High School freshman, has ran away from home. That's because the youngster disappeared for five days last month to spend time with a boyfriend, a 17-year-old lad from Mabton.

Solona said she first knew daughter Mariale was missing when she checked her bedroom at 3:30 a.m. last Wednesday, March 9, at the family's home on East Madison Avenue. She hasn't been seen since by family members.

According to family members, when the teen disappeared for five days in February she was found staying with her boyfriend at his sister's house in Mabton. Solona said the boyfriend's family has been contacted but they told her the 14-year-old girl is not there.

"They told us that last time, too," the Spanish speaking Solona said through a family member who speaks English.

Solona is asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of her daughter to contact either her (837-2923 or 830-6544) or the Yakima County Sheriff's Department (575-2500).
