Stolen car stopped by State Patrol

GRANDVIEW - A car reported stolen just after 2 a.m. this morning (Thursday) from the 300 block of Wilson Highway in Grandview was recovered during a traffic stop.

According to Grandview Police Department Det. Mitch Fairchild, the Washington State Patrol located the vehicle in a traffic stop, but the driver fled the scene.

The car was towed from the scene of the stop.

Grandview police are also investigating a burglary that occurred at Grandview High School sometime Tuesday night. According to Fairchild, the autotech shop was broken into and equipment was stolen.

A bicycle that was locked up at Grandview Middle School was also reported missing Wednesday, according to Fairchild.
