Juan M. Guzman, 94, of Sunnyside died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Hillcrest Manor in Sunnyside.

He was born May 18, 1910 in Michoacan, Mexico, the son of Maria (Martinez) and Ponciano Guzman. He spent his early years and received his education in Mexico.

He later met and married Joaquina Dominquez. In the early 1940s, the Guzman family moved to the Yakima Valley.

He is survived by his wife, Joaquina of Sunnyside.

Burial was held at Sunnyside Memorial Park under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.


Delores Oros, 72, of Grandview died Friday, April 29, 2005, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital in Yakima.

She was born in Mexico, the daughter of Dorotea Garsia and Bomfasio Talavera. She received her education in Mexico. In 2001 she moved to Grandview to live with her sons.

She is survived by six children, Macedonio Oros, Marcelino and Isidro Oros, all of Grandview, Guillermina Oros, Margarita Oros and Elia Oros, all of Mexico; numerous grandchildren; great- grandchildren; and one brother, Nasario Talavera of Mexico.

Viewing and visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2005, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Grandview. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grandview. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview.
